⌚ How much time do I have to declare it?

You must declare it as soon as possible, but according to the nature of your claim, the deadline may vary.

  • Water damage, fire and explosion, broken glass: 5 working days
  • Theft and vandalism: 2 working days
  • Natural disaster : until 10 days following the publication of the interministerial decree

💡 Good to know

In the event of a theft (or attempted theft): you must report it to the local police within 48 hours and send us a copy of the declaration you will receive from the police.

To assess the lost, you’ll need to prove the ownership, existence and value of the damaged, lost or stolen property. Those documents may be required: invoices (purchase, repair or maintenance), warranties, bank statements, loan documents, delivery tickets, notarised deeds or inventories, certificates of authenticity, expert reports and estimates produced prior to occurrence of the insured event.

As soon as you have a claim (theft, accidental material damage or accidental oxidisation) you must report it within 5 working days (except in unforeseeable circumstances or a case of force majeure).

💡 Good to know

In the event of a theft: you must, as soon as possible and as soon as you become aware of the insured event, file a report with the competent police authorities. You must mention the theft of the insured device, circumstances of the theft and details about the device (brand, model, serial number).

In the event of accidental material damage or accidental oxidisation: please refrain from trying to fix the device yourself or choosing a reparation service to fix the device. Follow the instructions given by SPB related to the damaged insured device and declare the circumstances of the accidental material damage.

Those documents will be required for all claims:

  • The receipt for the purchase of the original device
  • The invoice detailing the insurance premium
  • A copy of your Homebrella contract
  • A statement outlining the exact circumstances of the claim

Your contract number must appear on the documents you send.

💡 Good to know

Those informations will be required for all claims:

  • Your contract number
  • A copy of your insurance certificate
  • The contact details of the insured and, if applicable, those of his or her legal guardian.

In the event of an accident, you must provide the following documents to the insurer’s medical expert:

  • A written statement specifying the cause and circumstances of the accident, the names of the witnesses and, if applicable, the authority that drew up the report (if a report is drawn up, with the transmission number)
  • The original medical certificate from the doctor, surgeon or medical facility that provided the first aid treatment
  • All documents (for example, medical certificates) necessary for the assessment and calculation of the benefit that may be payable to you.

Medical documents must be sent under confidential cover to the attention of the Chubb’s Medical Advisor.
